Western Pride scored their first game of the season with a come-from-behind win against ten man Redlands City at Briggs Rd Sporting Complex.
Gabriel Hawash struck a late winner after Joe Duckworth converted a second-half penalty only four minutes after Mikey Dalton opened the scoring for the visitors.
Redlands’ Josh Sherwood earned a red card for bundling Jordan Lambi over in the area, allowing Duckworth’s equaliser.
Pride rung two changes to the starting line-up from the team which lost to Olympic last week, handing a debut to Karamo Kamara in defence and Jordan Lambi his first start of the season.
Under 20 striker Mambo Kashindi made his senior club debut off the bench for the home side, picking up an assist for Hawash’s winner.
Redlands were beset by injury, forcing changes from the team won their first game of the season last week against SWQ Thunder.
With both sides making indifferent starts to the season, the first half lacked fluency, before the game came to life in the second half.
The win lifts Pride ahead of Redlands on goal difference, ahead of their Friday night clash against Brisbane City.
