Kirsten Veeren and Joe Duckworth took out the big awards at the annual Western Pride Senior Awards Dinner on Saturday night.

Veeren was not available to collect her award as she was attending a trial at Adelaide United.

Veeren, the Senior Women Captain, took out the Senior Female of the Year Award after a series of stunning performances between the sticks saw her win more Team of the Week appearances than any other keeper in the competition.

Alicia Cole picked up the Players’ Player award in a season where she brought experience and nous to a young back-line.

Mariecamilla Falaniko Ah Ki rounded the Senior Women’s awards, winning Best and Fairest after a breakout year for the talented Samoan U20 centre back.

Joe Duckworth was the big winner for the Men, picking up the Senior Male Player and the Player’s Player Awards.

Duckworth capped off a successful season in which he scored against Brisbane Roar while playing for the PlayStation(r) 4 National Premier Leagues U23 Select side and being selected for the PS4 Player Pathway Award training camp last month alongside captain Jesse Rigby.

Duckworth’s 11 league goals also saw him secure the Senior Golden Boot Award ahead of Corey Lucas (6), Mitchell Bird (6) and Senior Women’s top scorer Rahni Pritchard (5).

Bird won the Men’s Best and Fairest award after his dynamic displays up and down the touchline saw him play a large part a number of goals thoughout the season.
