Update from the TD – Sunday, 20 September 2015

Update

The weekends Match Rundown.

Sat  – U16 B  – 1 All

1-1 with Brisbane Strikers.  After conceding a very early goal the U16’s fought back to equalise and came close to winning the game on a number of occasions. Well done to the boys!

Sun – U12 B – 8-1

8-1 despite the score line the boys again showed at the start of both half’s they are learning and competitive at this level.  Another big learning curve next season!

Sun – U13 B –  3-2 Win.
Another fantastic performance from this talented group.  I have been very impressed with the resilience shown by all. Fighting back to win 3-2 was a great effort.

Sun – U14 B –  1-0  loss
What a great game of football to watch.  Chances were at a premium due to some great defensive and goalkeeping work from both sides.   Ultimately the boys went down 1-0 to a late deflected shot from a corner but the was much to pleased about.

Sun – U15 B – 3-0 loss

The form team of the club at present couldn’t continue with their recent run of results going down 3-0.  However they again showed good organisation and structure.

U15 & Youth Girls both suffered defeats at the hands of Olympic

Thank you to all players, coaches and parents for their commitments and efforts this season.

In regards to the 2016 Season I can confirm that the club has received a number of outstanding candidates for the Technical Director role and interviews will take place week commencing 28th September, with an appointment to be announced shortly after.  It is important that the club secure the services of a Technical Director that steers the club into new territory and starts to push the club towards a more elite/professional environment by attracting the best coaches and players from the Western Corridor.

I have purposely not made any comments about coaches and players for next season as I have felt it disrespectful to do so when people are currently in place.  Now that the season has finished I will turn my attention to speaking with coaches from within and outside of the club re coaching positions for the 2016 and I will make announcements around the same time as the new TD is appointed as I feel it is essential the TD has input on coaching staff. However where possible I will make announcements when coaches have agreed terms.

Tomorrow I will be emailing out letters to parents /players for retainments and trials for the 2016 season.

I would like to also take this opportunity to remind everyone that the school holiday coaching clinics will be commencing on Tuesday 22nd September for three days at Briggs Road. http://westernpridefc.com.au/featured/holiday-clinics/

As always if you have any concerns or questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
