Vedrana Popovic in action for Brisbane Roar against Western Sydney FC

Western Pride FC are proud to announce Brisbane Roar W-League player Vedrana Popovic will be assisting the club in an ambassadorial role beginning January 2016.

A connection with Pride Women’s coach Pye Augustine is the catalyst for Popovic’s involvement; Augustine discovered Popovic playing for Annerley and asked the talented youngster to trial with the Lions FC Women’s squad at only 13 years of age.

Popovic had year-long stints at Melbourne Victory and Adelaide United before returning to the Roar in 2011, during which time she made her debut for the Matildas in 2013 and was named joint-Brisbane’s Players’ Player of the Year in 2014.

The talented defender will begin assisting the Youth and Senior Women once the W-League season finishes in January, acting as a role model to the players, helping guide trainings, and be present on game days.
