Western Pride traded wins with Gold Coast City as both sides started their pre-season campaigns at Ipswich Grammar School fields on Sunday.

In the early kick-off a combined U18/Youth Men side gave Pride a come-from-behind 4-3 win over the team from the Glitter Strip.

In the Seniors, an Adam Endean header against his old club ensured Pride were level 1-1 just after the break before the visitors ran away with a 4-1 win.

Both sides were missing several big names, instead fielding a large number of trialists in a game where most players saw 45 minutes of action as they build up their fitness.

Pride’s pre-season continues at Ipswich Grammar on Saturday to take on Logan Lightning with a full program of U18s, Youth Men and Senior friendlies.

Senior Men kick-off is 4.30pm.

Women’s friendlies and player announcements will commence post-Christmas.
