Graham Harvey Western Pride

Welcome message from Graham Harvey – Senior Mens Head Coach 2015/2016

Welcome back for Pre-Season training and the start of our 2015-16 PS4 National Premier Leagues Qld Season.

Most of you have enjoyed a six week break from football which was much needed after a long PS4 NPL QLD season which for many was their first full experience at this level. However it was a very eventful off season with three players leaving the club and moving into professional football so it is without a doubt that the 2015 season was a huge success for Western Pride FC.

Our unrivaled success of progressing players into the professional game should serve as a huge motivation for all players involved with the senior program this season at the club. Western Pride FC have a philosophy of giving young players the opportunity to play in the Playstation 4 National Preimiers without fear of failure and we will continue with that approach in 2016.

As Senior Teams Head Coach I am very fortunate to have a General Manager and a Committee that fully endorse our youth development policy, which I can appreciate can’t be easy at times when there are other clubs looking to recruit players to solely win games and aid their own clubs goals. As a result you as players must also understand and appreciate the faith shown in you and the environment we endeavour to create for your personal development. At Pride we believe we are the facilitators of the football pathway and it is our purpose to develop young players such as yourselves as best we can, to give you an opportunity for progression.

Over the course of pre-season we will work as a collective to deliver a program that prepares you for the demands of senior football whilst developing our playing style that will suit your strengths as players, whilst working on your weaker areas to develop your game. I request two simple things from you as players: (1) Honesty in everything you do on and off the field. (2) Never accept the status quo, challenge yourself in every session to improve.

I am looking forward to working with each and every-one of you for the up-coming season! Finally I would also like to personally to wish Ajdin, Bon and Harry all the very best in their new footballing endeavours. (Ajdin Fetahagic (AJ), Bon Scott and Harrison Sawyer)

Regards
